Torrance is centrally located in the southwest corner of Los Angeles County in an area known as the South Bay. Local attractions include beautiful Torrance Beach, Madrona Marsh--a freshwater nature preserve--the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, the Joslyn Fine Arts Gallery, the Torrance Historical Society Museum in old Downtown Torrance, the South Bay Center of the Arts at El Camino College and Del Amo Fashion Center, the largest enclosed shopping mall in the west.
Torrance boasts a high level of entertainment with 24 parks, a golf course, swimming pool, and numerous public tennis courts. Wilson Park, located on Crenshaw Boulevard at Sepulveda, hosts the Certified Farmers Market on Tuesday from 8-1 and Saturday from 8-12, a train ride on the first Sunday of every month, roller hockey, craft shows, free Torrance Symphony concerts during the year, and the Festival of Trees at Christmas.
Outstanding Torrance Beach features lifeguards, bath houses, a children's playground, and excellent facilities for swimming, surfing and volleyball. Each summer, the Daily Breeze International Surf Festival and the Torrance Beach Cities Triathlon attract thousands of athletes and spectators. The city is also the site of the Vista's for Blind Children Mobil/St. Patrick's Day Run, and the Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day Fun Run. Other annual events include the Armed Forces Day Parade, Bunka-Sai Japanese Festival, Gourmet Food and Wine Festival, and the Torrance shorts Film Festival.

The Hollywood Riviera
Hollywood Riviera was annexed by the city of Torrance in January, 1927, Torrance having gained cityhood in 1922. The history of the Riviera goes back further than 1927, however.
Originally the Riviera had been part of Rancho Palos Verdes owned by the Sepulveda family. This Rancho had been part of the first private land grant in California, the Rancho San Pedro given to Juan Jose Dominguez in 1784.
Riviera Village
Yearning for a couple of weeks in the South of France but only have Saturday away from the office grind? No need to moan. There's a reasonable substitute right in the South Bay of Southern California! Located just twenty miles south of Los Angeles in sunny Redondo Beach, the secluded, idyllic Riviera Village is an ideal place to spend that precious, well-earned day (or even longer) off. In a six block radius you'll find a unique collection of clothing and gift shops, restaurants and cafes as well as professional offices to fulfill any need, all with smog-free views of the Pacific Ocean and the golden green dramatic cliffs of the Palos Verdes peninsula.

Gable House Bowl, located on Hawthorne Boulevard, offers 40 state of the art bowling lanes, adult and childrens leagues, an arcade, weekend "Rock and Bowl", from 12-3 am, and also hosts children's birthday parties. Located adjacent to "The Bowl" is Laser Storm, also great fun for the family. Combination birthday parties offer children the fun and excitement of both activities, along with a party room, helpful staff and plenty of pizza!
Redondo Beach

The Del Amo Fashion Center
The Del Amo Fashion Center is the largest indoor mall in the South Bay and features many wonderful stores, such as Macy's, Robinson-May, Sears, Penneys, The Gap, Unlimited Too, Old Navy, and many favorite restaurants such as Outback Steak House, Lucille's, and Pat and Oscars. Barnes and Noble is located near the Northwest Parking lot, just off of Hawthorne.
The Avenue of the Peninsula
Located in Rolling Hills Estates, just a few minutes drive from the southern edge of Torrance, the shops at this beautiful outdoor center include Saks Fifth Avenue, Restoration Hardware, Ann Taylor, The Gap, Williams and Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Cold Stone Creamery (yum!) and some great restaurants such as The Marmelade Cafe. The Regal Theaters are on the third level.
The Galleria at South Bay
The beautiful Galleria Mall which boasts Nordstom's, Mervyn's and Robinson's-May, is a three-level indoor mall, and includes several restaurants, such as the Red Robbin, a wonderful food court, and the AMC theaters. Just outside the mall, in the southern part of the lot is the home design store, "The Expo".
